Call for Submissions

So this is where we're going to post your work. This site claims we'll be able to make posts in two different categories, so here are the two we are launching with.

  1. Renee Nicole Good.

Yes.

We see the irony.

A white woman is murdered and suddenly poets are building platforms.

Cool.

Not great.

Not lost on us.

Poets of color:

If you want to drag us about that and submit a poem?

Please do both.

Write about Renee.

Write about every name the news skipped.

Write about the hierarchy of grief.

We’re late.

We’re here.

We’re not pretending otherwise.

  1. What They Taught us to Forget

This space is not only for the latest headline.

We are always open to work about:

queer and trans violence

racial terror

police brutality

missing and murdered Indigenous women

anti-Black violence

anti-Asian violence

state and border violence

medical neglect

institutional harm

survival

inherited trauma

grief that never made the news

We are not ranking pain.

We are not curating a “most tragic” list.

We are not asking you to justify your grief.

Your story belongs here.

This whole upload thing will get smoother as we figure out how this site will actually work.
